The Electrochemistry at Interface Group was established in September 2022 and is headed by Prof. Vijayshankar Dandapani. The research focus is to develop novel electrochemical approaches to probe, characterize and provide fundamental understanding of material degradation processes. Ongoing work involves developing quantitative methods to probe corrosion kinetics at buried metal/polymer interfaces, hydrogen permeation and cracking in advanced steels, magnesium alloy corrosion and damage resistant coatings for hydrogen transport.
